100% Syrah. This is a full-bodied BIG bold red with tons of concentrated black fruit flavors and peppery spice. Tannins are pronounced but round and smooth on the palate. This wine pairs perfectly with a grilled ribeye but is smooth enough to drink pleasantly on it’s own.
What began in 2001 as a 7 barrel homage to winemaker/proprietor Russell P. From’s grandfather, has become a beacon to those seeking opulent, structured Syrah and Grenache. These are no nonsense, balls to the walls wines that are not for the faint of heart or the pinkie raising set. Russell sources fruit from 30 top-tier vineyards in 7+ distinct growing regions from Santa Ynez to Paso Robles. Vineyards of particular note include: Bien Nacido, Larner, Shadow Canyon, Vogelzang and White Hawk.
