Description

100% Grenache. Ripe berry flavors of bright strawberries and raspberries take center stage along with hints of white pepper. Medium bodied and smooth as silk.  It’s a fantastic wine for classic dishes like roasted vegetables, prime rib, rack of lamb and Beef Bourguignon.

What began in 2001 as a 7 barrel homage to winemaker/proprietor Russell P. From’s grandfather, has become a beacon to those seeking opulent, structured Syrah and Grenache. These are no nonsense, balls to the walls wines that are not for the faint of heart or the pinkie raising set. Russell sources fruit from 30 top-tier vineyards in 7+ distinct growing regions from Santa Ynez to Paso Robles. Vineyards of particular note include: Bien Nacido, Larner, Shadow Canyon, Vogelzang and White Hawk. According to Jeb Dunnuck in Wine Advocate “For those looking for super-concentrated, extroverted, exuberant, powerhouse wines from California’s Central Coast need look no further than the Herman Story estate.”
