Blueberry, violets, persimmon, and cherry soda aromas are balanced by an earthy palette. Spices like nutmeg and cinnamon add nuance and subtle texture to this evolving wine. Grapes were harvested between 9/3 and 9/30 from 5 vineyards and 13 induvial blocks in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Each block was treated separately, and natively fermented in small batches. Each batch was scrutinized for its ability to be fermented whole cluster, resulting in 39% whole cluster fermentation. The batches continued to age until July 2020 when we blended the wines and racked them together. The homogenous wine continued to age for another six months before bottled in December 2020.
