Description

Ogama’s namesake is a yōkai of Japanese folklore—an enormous, long-lived toad that breathes rainbows. It’s a playful name for our Grenache, a variety still fairly uncommon in Napa Valley. Translucent and medium ruby in color, Ogama opens with red fruit aromas: dried cherry, red currant, and raspberry jam, layered with dusty earth, dried rose petal, and black pepper. The oak is soft and subtle, lending structure with just a hint of spice. Moderate in body and tannin, it finishes smooth and delicate, with a lingering spicy note. Best served slightly cooler than room temperature—around 65°F. Drink within 10 years, or before you’re devoured by a giant toad.
