Description

This wine is one of the best values you will find for Premier Cru Chardonnay!! Today this French estate is owned by Ken & Grace Evanstad of Domaine Serene Winery in Oregon.  The venerable Château de la Crée estate in Santenay, Burgundy dates back to the 15th Century, when it was owned by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to Philippe the Good and founder of the Hospices de Beaune.  Today the Château’s vineyards include seven rare Premier Cru blocks located entirely along the renowned Côte d’Or escarpment, home to some of the world’s most storied Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.

Winemaker notes: Its aromas are acacia, mayflower, honeysuckle, bramble flowers with notes of hazelnut, white peach and ripe pear. In the mouth, the wine is fresh, young at heart, frisky, alluring, and rich. Refinement and delicacy are harmoniously matched to a durably well-built structure.

Pairing Suggestions: Fish and shellfish, onion tarts, as well as a wide variety of soft and hard cheeses such as Brie, Beaufort or even Saint-Nectaire…
